Burnout (devoré) velvet uses a chemical process to dissolve the pile in the ground areas, leaving a sheer, chiffon-light base with the motif standing in raised, opaque velvet — ideal where genuine transparency matters, like layered evening dresses and sheer overlays. Printed velvet (including our lighter-burnout, fully opaque “printed burnout” variants) pairs a stable polyester or nylon base with rich, saturated color for statement apparel and upholstery alike. Embroidered velvet, with or without sequin embellishment, builds up motifs in satin-stitch thread for bridal, occasion and home-décor pieces.Every roll is OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified and safe for direct skin contact.
